What to Expect at Your Visit
Making that first call, walking in the door for the first time can be scary. Whether it’s your first experience with counseling, or you come to my office with some counseling experiences under your belt, sometimes it’s hard to start something new. My goal is to provide a warm, welcoming environment where you can relax and just spend time on you. At your first visit we will discuss a little about who you are and what brought you to counseling. We will talk about the process and what you can expect from me. I will answer any questions you have and we will begin getting to know each other. From there we will work together to create goals and a plan of action to reach those goals, understanding that this process may be fluid and we can change directions any time you like. This is about you.
"Life is hard—not because we’re doing it wrong, just because it’s hard."
-Glennon Doyle Melton
Having worked with a variety of clients with different needs, I’m confident that no problem is too great to overcome. Together we can find ways to address the issues you face and learn new ways to manage your world that can help you both right now and in the future.
Hi! I’m Jeanne Chamness, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I want to help you make things better. Over the past 5 years, I have worked with clients dealing with a broad range of concerns. These concerns range from coping with daily life stressors, dealing with past trauma, to managing ongoing mental health concerns.
My focus is helping women as we juggle our myriad roles and expectations and find ways to make life more manageable. It’s not easy and it can feel overwhelming. I will work with you to help you discover what works best for you. I do not believe in cookie cutter approaches to counseling. I primarily utilize a Client Centered/Strength Based approach, identifying and building on the strengths you may not even know you have, but frequently borrow from many other types of therapy, adapting to meet your specific needs.
